Specialist healthcare agents DC Care have successfully brokered the sale of New Directions, a group of 5 care homes plus supported living provision located in St Leonards, Hastings and Robertsbridge. New Directions was established in 1998 and developed into a highly respected provider of care for those suffering from Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare, complex genetic disorder, which is present from birth and continues throughout life.
Founder owner Gayle Benet had mixed emotions when the sale completed having seen the group grow from its first home Bishops Croft, to its current registration of 34 with a further 2 residents housed in supported living accommodation.
The group was acquired by Craegmoor, part of the Priory Group of Companies for an undisclosed price. Sarah Hughes Managing director of Craegmoor, said "We are delighted that New Directions will become part of the Priory Group of Companies complementing and further expanding our Craegmoor services. The specialist Prader-Willi Syndrome services provided fit perfectly with our existing specialist services and New Directions will benefit from the experience and expertise of a larger organisation."
Andy Sandel of DC Care managed the sale and was pleased to have found the ideal purchaser for this highly specialised care group. "At DC Care we have the experience and most importantly the database of contacts that allows us to discreetly match the right buyers to a particular business."
"With New Directions there was always likely to be a great deal of interest but rather than expose the business and proposed sale to unwanted attention, I hand-picked a relatively small number of potential purchasers who possessed the ability and credibility to complete the deal. I compliment Gayle and her team together with Priory Group on their professionalism throughout the sale process."
